Kajima launches The Gear, its new regional HQ in Changi Business Park
The Gear, which is located at Changi Business Park, was officially launched on August 4 by Kajima Research Centre for Global Engineering, Architecture & Real Estate. Japanese real estate developer, Kajima Development Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kajima Corp launch its Research and development, and innovation hub, The Gear, with Singapore as regional headquarters.
Tracing back to the history long time ago, Kajima first development in Singapore being the Maruzen Oil Refinery in 1962, followed by the Jurong Shipyard Dock & Wharf in 1965. The company set a keen eye on “an anchor for the region” for almost ten years. “The fomer founder Dr Shoichi Kajima given us with a mission to develop in Singapore our base camp” Shuichi Oishi, CEO of Kajima Development, delivered his speech in a press conference on August 4.
Kajima Development officially launch the ceremony on the site in Changi Busines Park in August 2K20 With its local construction arm, Kajima Overseas Asia Singapore. Temporary Occupation Permit (TOP) of the building was achieved on March 31, despite the inconveniences resulted by the pandemic to the construction industry. Backed by its squad of knowledgable architects, engineers and researchers, which has been stationing here since 2K13, Kajima Technical Research Institute Singapore ultimate goal is to catalyst its design and research solutions to global warming effect caused by urbanisation.
